The Detailed Theory Of Tower Lights

Updated: Jun 10, 2021

An overview of Tower Lights

Tower lights are a very important and commonly used apparatus. These are used in multiple industries and in different processes. Tower lights are identified by their vertical structure of independent color lightings which are stacked on top of each other. A typical tower light comprises five different colored light segments. The color consists of – red, green, yellow, white, and blue and it sometimes includes a sound module. Due to their stacking orientation, for their purpose and design, these lights are often referred to as indicator lights, signal tower lights, warning lights, stack lights, industrial lights, and most importantly tower lights.

What is the purpose of Tower Light?

The tower lights are basically helping the operators to take necessary and required actions at the right time. It provides signals to the operators who look after the industrial machines and gives them the signal of the current status of the particular machine or event. If something went wrong in the machinery these tower lights also produce a strobe light signal or emit a buzzer sound, thereby informing all the maintenance staff and technicians about the status of the process or the machinery.

List of benefits that are derived from a Tower Light

  • Easy Installation – Tower lights are very easy to set up. As they can be set up with such ease, a significant amount of time, as well as money, are also hoarded.

  • Far Reach – Tower lights are manufactured with metal halide lights, these metal halide lights emit strong lighting over a wide area, hence covering the entire area or construction site. Generally, tower lights emit four times more light than tungsten bulbs.

  • Portable and Convenient – Tower lights are portable and convenient and therefore can be transferred or transported to several places. There are also tower lights that are equipped with wheels, which makes it easy to move around the required areas.

  • High Lighting – Tower lights of supreme quality produce four to 5 times more light than stationary towers. Also, adding to that portable tower lights consume less energy as well as less fuel than traditional lights.

  • Provides an Additional Source of Power – Tower lights are used as an additional source of power in the required area and construction sites. By applying tower lights there is absolutely no need for an additional generator on the site.

These are the list of benefits that tower lights provide to their users.

Significance of different lights in a Tower Light

As said earlier there is usually 4 type of lights present in a tower light namely – red, green, yellow, white and blue. Below are the signs of such lights as follows:

  • Red Light– It indicated any problems in a piece of machinery, which required immediate actions.

  • Green Light – It shows the machine is running smoothly with no issues.

  • Yellow Light – Yellow light indicates that something might go wrong in the machinery that might lead to shutting down.

  • White Light – This shows a user-defined condition to particular machinery, this often relates to productivity monitoring.

  • Blue Light – The blue light indicates a request for external help, placed for service from an expert or supervisor.

These are the signs of the lights in a tower light.

Tower lights prove to be very useful equipment when it comes to determining the condition of the industrial machinery or process. Tower lights are one of the most significant components in the field of automation and machine installations all over the world.
